I did end up making the broadstreet mittens for my dad for Christmas. I even figured out how to reverse the pattern for myself. I also discovered that not doing a knit row before I ran the yarn through to finish the thumb ended up with a lot nicer looking thumb.

There are signs all around work of a guy named Augustus Alcantar offering biomedical Spanish classes next quarter. This is not through any school, but privately. It’s 10 weeks of instruction with classes that are 3-4 people in size, and it’s only $280.
